University of Kentucky College of Agriculture

Community Supported Agriculture Project

The UK Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) project is a part of the UK College of Agriculture, Department of Horticulture, and is an integral component of the Sustainable Agriculture (SAG) Undergraduate Curriculum. The CSA project links faculty, staff, and students from the UK community with the Organic Farming Unit located at the UK Horticulture Research Farm. The CSA project is not a commercial farm and is not managed for profit. All financial proceeds from the sale of CSA shares support the production of food during the growing season and student educational activities of the SAG program.

All faculty, staff and students of the UK community are invited to sign-up for one or both of our share types briefly described below.  For more detailed information, please download the terms for each share type.  NEW 2013: All registration and payments for both share types will be managed online using the links provided below.

Full CSA Share:

Our traditional Full CSA Share is where members receive a weekly share of vegetables for 22 weeks from May 30th – October 24th, 2013.  A share will feed a family of 2-3 non-vegetarians.  For more information, download our 2013 Full CSA Share Terms.  You must agree to the terms listed within this document before registering, including instructions for a $100 student discount.

Shares are SOLD OUT for the 2013 season. Please visit localharvest.org if you are looking for another CSA farm to support.

Been a member for 3 or more years?  Please consider supporting another CSA on a local farm.  One goal of the UK CSA Project is to build the customer base for local farms and expand the CSA movement in our region.  Visit www.localharvest.org to search for a CSA farm in the area.

CSA Flex Share:

The CSA Flex Share is customizable, offering smaller quantities of select items on a first-come, first serve basis.  This gives members the flexibility to build their own share on a week-to-week basis but will not be able to offer the consistent availability (as quantities will be limited and may sell out) or variety (sometimes as few as 3-4 options) that our Full CSA Share provides.  This is perfect for those who wish to support our programming, but do not wish to be a Full CSA Share member. For more information, download the 2013 CSA Flex Share Terms.  You must agree to the terms listed in this document before participating.

NEW for 2013: all Flex Share members will be required to pay upon checkout, and delivery has moved to Thursdays at the same time as our Full CSA Share.  Simply visit the webstore below and complete your order to participate.
